Security firms Rubrik and CrowdStrike have announced a partnership, which will see the two combine their leading platforms.

According to CrowdStrike, combining the Rubrik Security Cloud with the CrowdStrike Falcon XDR platform will give organisations the ability to “rapidly detect, investigate and stop attacks targeting sensitive data”.

The combination of the two platforms will unify threat detection, data discovery and classification and give security teams greater context when it comes to incident response.

Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike, said the partnership with Rubrik “strengthens CrowdStrike’s data gravity, unifying threat detection with data discovery, classification and backup”.

“Through this partnership, we’re delivering the visibility and context security teams need to prioritise and accelerate response actions required to stop breaches of sensitive information – all from a single platform,” Bernard said in a statement.

Anneka Gupta, chief product officer at Rubrik, said the partnership was an answer to struggling legacy backup software.

“Legacy backup tools are not designed for modern cyber attacks, and many organisations are now paying the price. The gap between threat detection, data discovery, and classification creates significant visibility challenges for security teams defending critical data,” Gupta said.

“With CrowdStrike, we are helping our customers up the ante against cyber adversaries, allowing security teams to identify and defend against attacks swiftly – and ultimately boost cyber resilience.”
