Verizon released its 2021 Mobile Security Index, having surveyed 856 Australian, UK and US businesses.
Verizon unveiled their fourth annual Mobile Security Index (MSI) for 2021, shining a spotlight on emerging trends and threats for mobile security.
The review found that the COVID-19 pandemic forced many businesses to increasingly rely on apps and cloud services, while IT providers have been struggling to keep up with the rapid demand for mobile security processes.
Indeed, 49 per cent of respondents noted that the recent COVID-19 lockdown and the subsequent working from home arrangements undertaken by businesses has impacted their cyber security.
Further, the research uncovered that while 52 per cent of survey respondents believed that SMEs were a larger target than big businesses, 59 per cent of SMEs had forgone cyber security practices.
The research surveyed 856 businesses across Australia, the UK and the UK.
The MSI further includes suggestions on how businesses can mitigate the threat of cyber security breaches.
