With increased cyber threats, new executives Leo Lynch and John Marshall join Check Point tasked with unlocking the power of commercial partners in providing cyber security solutions for clients and partners.
Check Point is doubling down on its commercial strategy with the appointment of the company’s head of channels and distribution for Australia and New Zealand.
Leo Lynch joins as the new ANZ head of channels, bringing with him over two decades of experience managing business growth in key markets across Asia-Pacific, establishing new business and go-to market strategies within IT channel partners and end customer organisations.
John Marshall is set to be appointed as the ANZ head of distribution, with a proven track record of account and business management to lead business development strategies across vendors and distribution.
The new appointments follow Check Point’s commitment as a 100 per cent channel-led organisation to investing in key leadership roles across the region, following Mark Baker's recent appointment as New Zealand country manager and Rodney Thorne, who was promoted from regional channels director to lead the local teams, as Australia country manager.
Thorne adds that this is an exciting time for Check Point as the company bolsters the commercial leadership team for the Australian and New Zealand region.

By strengthening the ANZ leadership team, Check Point is aiming to continue with delivering growth opportunities for clients and partners as part of the company’s new “You Deserve the Best Security” strategy, recently revealed at the annual CPX 360 partner event series.
Check Point Software also unveiled its new Quantum Lightspeed technology they have dubbed as the world’s fastest firewall, delivering 20 times better price performance than competing vendors at the event.
Check Point Software has more than 120 employees in ANZ who work with over 400 partners across the region to protect customers from ever-growing cyber threats.
According to Check Point Research, ANZ companies marked a 52 per cent increase in attacks from 2020 to 2021, while New Zealand saw a worrying 100 per cent increase on average, respectively. Globally, the numbers were similar, with a 50 per cent increase in overall attacks on corporate networks, compared to 2020.
