Governments recognise the Common Criteria (CC) certification as the standard for validating product security claims before purchase. It aims to provide recognised security inspection criteria for IT products that is independent and scalable worldwide.

The new certification recognises Check Point's capability to meet or exceed security requirements agreed upon by 31 nations in the Common Criteria Recognition Agreement (CCRA). Common Criteria certification is essential for government procurement and closely related industries, including critical infrastructure.

The new CC protection profile certification complements Check Point's CC EAL4+ certification, which reaffirms Check Point's commitment to maintain the highest security standard required by governments worldwide.

According to Eyal Manor, vice president of product management at Check Point, the company is focused on delivering innovative solutions that consistently meet and exceed the requirements to provide the highest level of security globally.

"These certifications underscore Check Point’s ability to protect global entities and comply with the latest approved standards for protecting and securing IT infrastructure and information while providing the secure services required to run a business," Manor added.

Due to increasing sophistication, cyber threats are becoming harder to detect. This certification upholds compliance with three protection profiles that applies to the full suite of Check Point Quantum Network Security appliances, which include Quantum Maestro Orchestrator, R81 management platform and CloudGuard Network. Check Point Quantum Network Security is designed to provide ultra-scalable protection from Gen V cyber attacks on an organisation's network, cloud, data centre, IoT and remote users.
