Cyber security executive Larry Letow was appointed to the role of President, CyberCX United States this week, with the objective of driving market growth for the Australia-New Zealand based firm in the region.

Currently, CyberCX is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest cyber security companies, and expects that their unique offerings will create business development opportunities across other Five Eyes partner nations.

According to a statement by the company, the US cyber security market is valued at some $34 billion.

John Paitaridis, chief executive of CyberCX welcomed the opportunity to expand the company’s US footprint, and use their expertise to provide enhanced cyber security support to government partners.

“CyberCX already has an established presence in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. We have the largest dedicated cyber security workforce across Australia and New Zealand and are growing rapidly in the US and UK. We are committed to investing further to build our capabilities, resources and facilities to support our US customers," he said.

“This announcement reinforces our intent to drive global expansion, with a focus on creating the largest private sector cyber security capability across the ‘Five Eyes’ countries. Our mission is to secure our communities and protect and defend our enterprise and government customers from threat actors and cyber crime.”

According to a statement by the company, Letow will be supported by his Australian-based colleagues, former managing director of Optus Business and current CyberCX CEO Paitaridis, as well as former Australian National Cyber Security Adviser chief strategy officer Alastair MacGibbon and former director of the National Security Agency Admiral (Ret’d) Michael Rogers who serves on the board.

The company expects that having offices in multiple timezones will allow the company to continue their “follow-the-sun” capabilities and provide round the clock threat intelligence.

Letow welcomed the opportunity and noted that the US market has great need for CyberCX’s offerings.

"There is clear and strong demand for advisory and services from an independent cyber security organisation. US firms are looking for a trusted partner with expertise in the regions where clear and persistent threats are emanating,” Letow noted.

“CyberCX is expanding its US platform to deliver end-to-end cyber security services, supported by investment in systems, processes, tools and a centralised support structure that enables our frontline teams to focus on what they do best – deliver great services to valued customers.”

Before his appointment, Letow served on the board of CyberMaryland, the State of Maryland Task Force and the National Cyber Security Hall of Fame.
