The home-grown integrated security, technology and risk advisory consultancy, is aiming to leverage Hackdev Technology’s pool of hundreds of security testers, to deliver a testing scale to its Australian clients’ applications and systems, that isn’t currently available from Australia’s stretched local security testing resources.

According to Glenn Ashe, Anchoram Consulting CEO, Asia-Pacific has been firmly established as a target for global cyber criminal gangs, increasing seven-fold in the first half of 2020 when ‘ransomware’ entered the public lexicon – cyber attacks became bigger and more damaging than ever.

“Our HackDev Technology and Anchoram bilateral framework is most timely. It will give us a force-multiplier for our cloud-testing services capability,” Ashe said.

“In return, our colleagues at Hackdev Technology will tap into our strong integrated security expertise and experience in corporate governance, ICT leadership, and business transformation.

"In emerging economies such as India’s, Australian expertise is highly valued.”

HackDev Technology has significantly scaled up resources to ensure the testers, developers and legal practitioners bring their cyber security smarts to this bilateral framework through the Codesnag.com entity, according to Rakshit Tandon, Hackdev Technology, director and co-founder.

“Anchoram in turn will provide us with its deep experience in integrated security, governance, risk management and data & information, which will add to both our consulting services for our corporate clients, and our education and training arm, Hackershala,” Tandon added.

India is the world’s emerging technology superpower, with 1.3 billion people connected via their mobile phones and a working relationship between India and Australia is key according to Julian Leeser, Federal Member for Berowra and the Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of India.

"As cybersecurity becomes a bigger issue, decisions made by India about emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, 5G and 6G, and the position it takes in multilateral technology forums will shape the rules and norms of behaviour for technology globally," Leeser said.

Anchoram Consulting and Hackdev Technology were inspired by the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) announced by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in June last year, according Harpreet Cheema, chief operating officer and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) practice leader at Anchoram Consulting.

“Our bilateral framework with Hackdev is about forging the co-operation and close economic relationship the CSP envisages," Cheema said.

"Through it we will tap into the trends being developed around emerging technology, and bring our knowledge of sophisticated regulatory systems, ethics and security architecture to deliver on the framework.”

The CSP is expected to take the India-Australia relationship to the next level as it is designed to recognise the need to work together in the areas of digital economy, cyber security, and critical and emerging technologies, all of which are identified in the Framework Arrangement on Cyber and Cyber-Enabled Critical Technology Cooperation.
