The developer security company has expanded its investment in the Asia-Pacific, appointing new representatives to bolster its market footprint in New Zealand.
Snyk has appointed Tessa Davis as senior solutions engineer and Stephen Phillips as senior account executive for New Zealand, aimed at meeting an increase in demand for developer-first security solutions.
Davis joins Snyk from VMware, where she served as staff solutions engineer with a strong background in automation and cloud computing.
She will now be responsible for helping customers accelerate their path to production, increasing velocity by embedding secure design processes into developer’s everyday practices, leveraging existing DevOps tools.
Meanwhile, Phillips joins Snyk from Westpac Bank for New Zealand, where he served as chief information security officer, charged with improving the company’s cloud security posture and optimising cyber resilience.
In his new role, Phillips has been tasked with helping customers improve governance and risk management, enhancing cloud native application software development practices and infrastructure.
Davis will be based in Wellington, while Phillips will be based in Auckland.

The appointments come amid a ramp up in Snyk’s growth across the region, with the company projected to achieve more than 250 per cent growth in New Zealand by the end of 2022.
