In 2017 alone $2.3 billion was stolen from consumers by cyber criminals; with $2.1 billion per year the estimated impact of identity crime in Australia.
Malicious actions from state-backed cyber actors is also expected to spike, with intent to compromise government and business networks to obtain economic, defence, legal, policy, intellectual property and security information for their advantage.

Phillip is an executive with over 20 years’ experience, in a career that spans finance, business, economics, international politics, defence and aerospace. He has led the launch, acquisition and growth of a range of award-winning business and consumer platforms and is recognised for his expertise in building highly-connected communities. As head of Momentum’s defence and aerospace business, he is charged with the growth and development of brands including Defence Connect, Space Connect, Cyber Security Connect, Australian Aviation and World of Aviation. Phillip has a master’s degree in international relations and a bachelor’s degree in political science.

Joe has a background in the military and marketing. As a Royal Marines Commando he served on a number of deployments, including Afghanistan and Africa, before making the transition from a uniform to a suit. After leaving the military in 2014 Joe travelled to Australia, joining a large IT company as a digital marketing specialist. Joe subsequently joined Momentum Media as a media strategist, tasked with developing commercial relationships with primes, major manufacturers, technology companies, system integration businesses, SMEs and other defence, cyber and aerospace industry stakeholders to enhance their connectivity with key markets globally as well as in Australia.

Andrew has worked in media for 20 years. With extensive experience supporting brands to connect with, and influence, their target markets, he’s ideally placed to help implement a range of commercial executions. Being across the latest trends in advertising whilst never losing sight of the benchmarks of any successful campaign, Andrew has successfully worked with hundreds of companies to help deliver their marketing goals and achieve maximum bang for buck.

Victoria has firmed her reputation as a talented and persuasive communicator, particularly in the field of defence and national security where she has over a decade’s experience working with major primes and corporates as well as SMEs and the start-up sector. Passionate about podcasting, live broadcasting and social media as effective platforms for business storytelling, content delivery and corporate communications, Victoria plays a key role in driving Momentum’s defence, cyber and aerospace podcast channels. She has a bachelor’s degree in business.
News Editor – Defence and Cyber, Momentum Media
Prior to joining the defence and aerospace team in 2020, Charbel was news editor of The Adviser and Mortgage Business, where he covered developments in the banking and financial services sector for three years. Charbel has a keen interest in geopolitics and international relations, graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a double major in politics and journalism. Charbel has also completed internships with The Australian Department of Communications and the Arts and public relations agency Fifty Acres.

Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, and has since been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia – including across the legal, mortgages, real estate and wealth industries. In addition, Emma has launched several additional sub-brands and events, driven by a passion to deliver quality and timely content to audiences through multiple platforms. Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of New South Wales, before taking on a radio journalist role for Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland. She graduated from Charles Sturt University with a bachelor's degree in communications (journalism).

Annie Kane leads content across Momentum’s mortgages assets, which includes leading brands The Adviser and Mortgage Business – Australia’s leading sources of news, opinion and strategy for mortgage brokers and third-party mortgage distribution. As well as creating news and features on the Australian broking industry, the mortgage market, financial regulation, fintechs and the wider lending landscape, Annie is also the host of the Elite Broker and In Focus podcasts plus The Adviser Live webcasts. She is also a co-host of the Mortgage Business Uncut podcast. Before joining Momentum Media in 2016, Annie wrote for a range of business and consumer media brands, including The Guardian (Australia), BBC Music Magazine, Elle (Australia), BBC Countryfile, BBC Homes & Antiques, and Resource magazine.

Sarah Kendell is editor across Momentum Media’s wealth brands including ifa, Investor Daily and Fintech Business. She joined the Momentum Media team in July 2019 and was previously deputy editor of the group’s educational platform for SMSF professionals: SMSF Adviser. Prior to joining Momentum, Sarah was an account director at financial services PR firm Madden & Assoc, where she managed communications strategy and media relations for brands including Crestone Wealth Management, Perennial Value Management and FASEA. Sarah has extensive experience in financial services media and communications, having previously edited financial adviser trade title Financial Observer and worked as account manager for financial communications consultancy Honner.

Adam is a journalist and content creator who has worked for more than 40 prestigious media brands in the UK and Australia. Since 2005, his varied career has included stints as a reporter, copy editor, feature writer and editor for publications as diverse as Fleet Street newspaper The Sunday Times, fashion bible Jones, media and marketing website Mumbrella as well as lifestyle magazines such as GQ, Woman’s Weekly, Men’s Health and Loaded. He joined Momentum Media in early 2020 and is the content lead for aviation assets for Australian Aviation and World of Aviation.

Blair has over 20 years’ experience in the online sector, graduating from university with a Bachelor of Commerce in the late 1990s. Working in marketing, product development and management roles for start-ups as well as established media brands in New Zealand, UK, Germany and Australia, Blair has developed extensive knowledge across all facets of digital technology. With deep technical experience combined with a commercial mindset, Blair leads the development of digital platforms at Momentum Media.

Jennifer leads the in-house events team at Momentum Media, delivering over 80 large scale events across multiple specialist brands within the defence, space, wealth, law, finance and business sectors. Her contribution to the development of the Ballroom Platform saw Momentum ranked as one of the Australian Financial Review’s Most Innovative Companies 2020. Jennifer also leads event production for Momentum Connect, an independent content and events agency, helping businesses to think, act and engage like a professional media company. Prior to joining Momentum, Jennifer worked in financial services within funds management and global investment banking in London. She holds a Bachelor of business management specialising in event management.

Michael leads Momentum Media’s audience growth and intelligence department, the Momentum Intelligence Unit, and is responsible for delivering internal and external stakeholders with rich audience insights and analysis. His expertise as a Chartered Accountant, data analyst and market research professional has been critical to delivering real-world insights to Australia’s largest financial institutions, corporates and professional services firms. The insights and analysis generated from the Momentum Intelligence Unit drive deeper audience engagement and growth across Momentum Media’s brands.

Lyndsey has 11 years’ experience working in media production. Following her Master’s degree in Journalism, she worked across a set of political and public policy magazines in England as a journalist, subeditor and as production manager. Lyndsey has worked at Momentum Media for the past four years heading up the production department and managing the development of its award-winning magazines, including Australian Aviation and World of Aviation, web portals and suite of highly-ranked podcasts.
Senior Production Editor, Momentum Media
Keith is an experienced digital and print subeditor, having worked in business-to-business media for nine years across a diverse range of industries, including finance, professional services, mortgages, law, defence and aerospace. He joined Momentum Media in 2016 and has worked on a number of the business’ brands, as well as leading the subediting team. Keith previously worked as a journalist in the broadcast and film technology space and has a Bachelor of Communications and Media Studies.

Todd’s career in media and entertainment launched in 2006 after performing stand-up comedy – which saw him nominated as New Zealand’s Best New Comedian. Shifting his attention to radio broadcasting, Todd completed a Bachelor’s Degree with The New Zealand Broadcasting School and worked as a radio announcer for some of the top-rating stations in New Zealand as well as Australia. He regularly appears as a guest speaker on the topic of audio storytelling, and now manages the production and delivery of close to 20 different podcasts channels for Momentum Media – including Australian Aviation and World of Aviation.
