Rahn Wakeley has been named as global IT security company Qualys’ inaugural chief technology security officer for Australia and New Zealand.

Wakeley will be tasked with expanding the company’s presence in the region by promoting the integration of its digital transformation offering.

The new appointee joins Qualys from Great Southern Bank, where he served as head of cyber security and technology risk.

Wakeley also served as head of cyber information security at TAL and previously served for 11 years at financial services giant AMP.

“Rahn brings [his] unique experience as a transformative security executive to our Australia and New Zealand team,” Allan Peters, chief revenue officer at Qualys, said.

“He has years of CISO experience leading the design, build, delivery and operations of secure technology platforms with financial institutions and familiarity with Qualys’ solutions, the ideal background to add strategic and operating value with our customers.”

Wakeley welcomed the opportunity to contribute to Qualys growth in the ANZ region.

“I’m looking forward to leveraging my experience running complex cyber security initiatives at large enterprises to help Qualys customers drive exceptional security outcomes,” he said.
