IRoX Team has largely been targeting India, at least since its Telegram channel was created in September 2023. It has released leaks of credit card data and various databases belonging to educational institutions and Indian websites.

But overnight, the group has declared a “cyber war” on a range of countries – all supporters of Israel in its current conflict with Hamas.

“We always stand by our Palestinian Muslim brothers,” the group said in a Telegram post, under the heading “Cyber Attack Warning – IRoX Team”. “We have declared cyber war against Israel as well as those who support Israel.”

The group then lays out its plans for when to attack three groups of countries.

On 20 October, the group and its affiliates – it seems to have been already recruiting in a separate Telegram channel – aim to attack targets in Brazil, Canada, Poland, and Spain, while on 30 October, France, Norway, Austria, and Germany are in the firing line.

However, on 25 October, IRoX Team proposes to target India, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

“We will completely destroy the cyberspace of those who support Israeli Jews,” the group said before restating its apparent motto.

“We are not organisation... We are Community with Unity!”

Many hopeful hackers appear to be waiting for a more detailed target list in the group’s discussion channel, and IRoX already seems to have more than enough people on its books.

“Sorry sir we have enough members if ever more members are needed then updates will be given thanks for staying with us,” a group spokesperson replied to one prospective recruit.

IRoX Team’s telegram channel was only created in September 2023, and hard data on the group appears few and far between. Threat intelligence service Falcon Feeds has only one entry for it, despite its recent operations against India – it could well be a newly formed group or one that has simply switched from an older channel to another.

It remains to be seen if IRoX Team can follow through on its plans.
