An alleged 31,000 lines of data belonging to a Victorian home builder is up for sale on a notorious hacking forum.
A user on a clear web hacking forum claims to have a trove of data belonging to builder Granvue Homes and is selling it to anyone with a few euros to spare.
The data seems to be a mixed batch, but the sample provided by the hacker shows three sets of unique entries.
First is what looks to be customer inquiries made on Granvue Homes’ website. The data here includes names, emails, and phone numbers, as well as the questions themselves, which are about the various styles of homes Granvue offers, their dimensions, and whether they could be built on a certain lot of land. In many cases, the lot number and estate name or address are included, effectively making a portion of the leaked data a list of cashed-up individuals looking to build a new home, and where that home is located.
The second tranche of data appears to be login attempts on the website, alongside the IP address the login was made from.
Lastly – this is a short snippet of data included in the post to provide a proof of hack – there’s a list of what looks to be website or company “members”. Listed are names and emails belonging to Granvue employees, as well as emails belonging to Victorian “full-service digital agency” Annix. Annix has worked with several home builders on digital products and website design.
All the home types appear to match those offered by Granvue, while the members listed match individuals at both companies.
While the proof-of-hack data is limited, the hacker said they have more than 31,000 lines of data – apparently in an SQL file – dating from between 2017 and 2023. It is currently being sold for eight site credits; forum users can purchase 30 credits for just €8.
It has been sold at least once, with another forum user replying, “Thans for the AUS sql bro, great share”.
