Cyber security firm Rapid7 has revealed that Duo – a division of business technology company Sektor – will be the company’s strategic distribution partner in New Zealand.

The agreement means that Duo’s reseller business, including value-added resellers and managed security service providers, will be able to offer customers Rapid7’s Insight platform.

Rapid7’s Anita Moorhouse, partner director for Asia-Pacific and Japan, pointed out the move comes as Gartner predicts a significant uptick in cyber security spending for 2024. In New Zealand alone, spending is expected to increase by 11 per cent next year.

“With organisations set to increase their cyber security spending, resellers, VARs, and MSSPs will each play a pivotal role in providing the cyber tools that businesses need to bolster their defences,” Moorhouse said in a statement. “We’re delighted to have Duo join us as a strategic distributor in New Zealand and look forward to working closely with them and their partner network.“

The Insight platform provides a “comprehensive suite of tools” to boost an organisation’s security posture, including risk management, external threat intelligence, and cloud security. David Long, general manager of cyber AU/NZ at Duo, feels the partnership is a perfect fit for the market.

“We’re excited to collaborate with the team at Rapid7 as they expand into the New Zealand market,” Long said.

“Their solution is perfect for commercial and large enterprises looking to enhance asset visibility and address vulnerabilities across their entire IT estate. The platform provides automated, actionable insights, presenting a market opportunity for the channel community and service providers to deliver additional value to their customer base.”
